Who we are

Humanity Above All (“we”, “us”) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Tax ID 99-3629103) based in Chicago, Illinois. This policy covers the website humanityaboveall.org and the donation, volunteer, and contact tools on it.

What we collect

Donations. When you give, our payment processor Stripe collects your card details — we never see or store your full card number. We receive and keep your name, email, donation amount, date, and the campaign you supported so we can issue tax receipts and honor your intent.

Forms. When you contact us, volunteer, or sign up through a form, we keep what you submit (typically name, email, and your message) so we can respond and coordinate.

Email. If you sign in to your supporter portal, we use your email to send you a secure sign-in link. Transactional email (receipts, confirmations) is delivered by Resend.

Technical basics. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) processes IP addresses and request logs to serve pages securely.

Analytics. We count page views and page speed using Vercel Web Analytics, which runs on our own hosting. It sets no cookies, gives you no identifier, and cannot follow you to any other website — which is why this site shows you no cookie banner. What we see is aggregate: how many people read a page, roughly where in the world they were, which link brought them, and how quickly the page loaded. We never see who you are. Pages that could identify you are excluded entirely — the supporter portal, the staff system, sign-in and our public forms are never measured. We run no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising tags.

What we do with it

We use your information to process donations, issue receipts, respond to you, coordinate volunteering, and report on our work. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the site run (Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Supabase and Vercel for secure hosting) — each bound to protect it — or where the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you (receipts required by tax rules excepted). Write to info@humanityaboveall.org and a human will answer.

Retention & security

Donation records are retained as required for nonprofit accounting and IRS compliance. Everything is stored with access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep our footprint deliberately small: we collect only what the work requires.

Children

Our site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
